The weather is getting warm in London, and July 2019 looks set to be the perfect month to enjoy the weather with these family-friendly things to do in the city!

Hang Out at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

What better place to appreciate the good weather than within the stunning grounds of Hampton Court Palace mid-flower show! This annual event is the place to go for inspirational garden design, and there are incredible goodies available to buy too, especially on the last day! You’ll be pleased to know that there will be a wide range of activities to keep children entertained at the show and that adults can bring two children under 16 years old free of charge. Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in London from 02nd – 07th July 2019.

Take a Tour of Buckingham Palace

This is the month that the Queen opens the palace up to the public to come in and marvel at the 19 State Rooms and specialist exhibitions. As 2019 marks the 50th Anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, you’ll be able to see the largest exhibition of his works in over 65 years – 200 in total that forms a part of the Royal Collection. There will be a free family multi-media guide and activity trail suitable for 7 to 11-year-olds. Buckingham Palace Tours from 20th July – 29th September 2019.

Watch Wimbledon with Strawberries and Cream

Tickets for this event are hard to come by, but there are plenty of places where any of us in London can watch the action alfresco on-screen instead. Top spots are Granary Square, Kings Cross; Flat Iron Square, Southwark; Cardinal Palace Roof Garden, St James’ Park; and Pergola, Paddington. The traditional fare of strawberries and cream will go down well with the kids, while parents will enjoy the accompanying glass of Prosecco! Wimbledon Tennis Championship in London from 01st – 14th July 2019.

Lounge About in a Lido

With the hot summer sun of July comes the chance to enjoy some alfresco action in one of London’s many lidos. Most are nestled in parkland, including London Fields Lido in Hackney, just a short way from The Westbridge Hotel in Stratford. The Olympic size pool is ideal for little ones, as it is heated, there are family changing rooms, a sun terrace for some chill time, and a café where everyone can get their energy back up! London Fields Lido – open throughout July 2019.
