Santa’s Snowflake Grotto Westfield Stratford City 22nd Nov to 24th Dec
Take a break from seasonal shopping at the nearby Westfield Stratford City just a couple of minutes walk from The Westbridge Hotel by ducking into Santa’s Snowflake Grotto. Kids will love the magic of this winter wonderland. The experience includes a visit to the Snow Factory where Santa’s elves make all the snow in the world, and the children get to make their own snowflake before meeting Santa in his icy chamber for gifts and a photo. The visit ends with an experience in the infinity room.
Christmas at Kew Gardens 22th Nov to 05th Jan
With over a million sparkling tea lights illuminating a mile long walk through the botanical gardens you can’t fail to find the magic of Christmas at Kew this December. Kids and adults alike will love the Palm House pond lights that dance along to festive tunes. This year there is a Laser Garden hidden in the woods and the illuminating spectacle of hundreds of glowing boats bobbing on the lake. Expect seasonal snacks, warming mulled wine and also a chance to purchase some festive gifts.
A Christmas Carol at The Theatre 27th Nov to 19th Jan
The 2018 adaptation at the Old Vic Theatre, Southwark stars Rhys Ifans as Scrooge. It has been billed as a heart-warming, fun and festive version of the Dickens’ classic, complete with Christmas carols and a dose of panto slapstick.
Natural History Museum Ice Rink 25th October to 20th Jan
This is arguably one of the most enchanting ice rinks around during December in London. The beautiful architecture of the Natural History Museum is a stunning backdrop, and trees dripping with fairy lights really adds to the festive feel. There is an undeniable charm to this attraction that wouldn’t seem out of place in a festive fairy tale.
Southbank Centre Wintertime Market 09th Nov to 6th Jan
This iconic Christmas market, held in wooden chalets, evokes the most traditional of Christmas atmospheres. There’s festive food a plenty, lots of warming beverages, and of course the opportunity to shop until you drop. The market is part of the Southbank Centre Wintertime Festival, which hosts performances, shows, and festive activities guaranteed to get the most Scrooge-like family members in the mood for Christmas!
